Most of the time, when I head into a slice joint, it's with one goal in mind: pizza. Sure, there are other things on the menu (really, there are! Like, pretty much always!), but does anyone actually order them? I have to know: do you order non-pizza items at slice joints? And if so, what?

Before we get into it, let's take a quick look back at last week's poll results. My question—understandably inflammatory—was this: Does the Japanese okonomiyaki in any way, shape, or form deserve to be called "pizza"? An inclusive few of you were willing to allow it (15%), but 85% of our staunch, pizza-obsessed followers refuse to countenance the equivalence. To dig into the debate (inasmuch as something with such a one-sided result can be debated), check out the comments.

Now, back to the matter at hand—occasionally, occasionally when I'm at a pizzeria, I will order something other than pizza (albeit usually in addition to pizza). More often than not for me, this means garlic knots (I'm itching to try making these deep-fried ones). Nevertheless, I'm willing to concede that there's a whole realm of unexplored pizza-menudom that I'm missing. So my question this week is: What's your favorite thing to order at a slice joint, aside from pizza? If you've had any exceptional experiences, let us know in the comments!
