- FoodBeast clues us in to the latest development in Pizza Hut's international stuffed crust kingdom: the Pineapple Bun Stuffed Crust Pizza, which is now available in Taiwan. Not actually filled with pineapple, pineapple buns get their name from their crisp and sweet golden outer shell, a feature the new crust shares (and then, of course, it's shot full of cheese).
- From Gawker, there's the French tourist who mistook Richard Gere for a homeless man, and kindly offered him her leftover slices. Turns out Gere has been shooting scenes for a new film in NYC that has him digging through trash, and the woman made her charitable move unaware of the attending cameras.
- Over at Eater, we have Stephen Jeffcoat (former Beverage Manager and current General Manager at Pizza Domenica) offering up his thoughts on pizza and beer pairings. Jeffcoat says, "We didn't want to play it safe and cater to what...the market demanded. We thought, let's open strong right out of the gate, serving beers that we love."
- And finallly, TechCrunch tells us that Dominos is launching its take on Pizza Hut's touch screen table concept with a new iPad app that will allow you to "build" your pizza, and order it for take-out or delivery. "The new Domino's iPad app takes the experience of ordering pizza to a whole new level," said Kevin Vasconi, Domino's Pizza chief information officer.
