There is an unwritten rule that all pizza places provide two toppings: Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. Adding a little heat to your pie is an elementary component of pizza appreciation. While some are happy to steer clear of red pepper flakes and chilis altogether, those that start down the spicy path will find all kinds of interesting new ways to add a little extra oomph to their slice.
